See what a season here actually feels like.

Families tell us a Discovery Visit is the best way to experience seasonal cottage ownership first hand, get every question answered, and work out whether it is the life they were looking for.

A day in the life of an owner.

This is what owners describe when you ask them what a Saturday looks like.

Morning

Coffee on the deck

The water is still flat and nobody has anywhere to be. No packing, no check-in, no drive home until Sunday. The cottage was ready when you arrived because it is yours.

Late morning

The children disappear

They are at the pool, or the courts, or somebody else's deck. Gated, familiar faces, and they surface when they are hungry. Parents say this is the part they did not expect to value so much.

Afternoon

On the water, or not

Out in the boat, down at the beach, or in a chair with a book and one eye on the lake. Nothing needs painting and the grass is already cut.

Evening

Fire, food, neighbours

Something on the barbecue and a fire going, and people drifting over without being invited. Most owners say this is the part they bought it for.

★★★★★

This is our eighth season here. A swimmable lake and beaches gives our kids and grandchildren somewhere to play, and we enjoy the friendships we have made.

What a visit looks like.

When you arrive

Questions first

We sit down before anything else and go through how ownership actually works, what the annual fees cover and what they do not. Ask us everything now, so there are no cost surprises later.

Around the resort

Why owners come back

A tour of the grounds, usually by golf cart. The pool, the water, the courts and the quiet corners. You will see first hand why our seasonal owners return year after year.

Viewing cottages

Only the ones that fit

We agree a budget, a size and a layout first, then take as long as you like walking through the seasonal cottages that match. There is no point showing you anything that does not.

Before you leave

The numbers, checked twice

We talk through the full costs, your purchasing options and financing if you want it, then double check every figure together so you go home knowing exactly where you stand.

Come and see for yourself.

Pick whatever time suits you. If it turns out not to be right for your family, that is a perfectly good outcome, and we would rather you found that out on a Saturday morning than after you had bought.

Still have a few questions before visiting?

The questions families actually ask.

Four that come up on nearly every visit, answered here so you are not starting from scratch.

Which resort should we look at?

Start with the one nearest home. Owners say this more than anything else: the resort you can reach in ninety minutes is the one you will actually use, while the prettier one four hours away tends to get visited twice a summer.

Who should come with us?

Whoever will be using it. Lot choice usually comes down to whether you would rather be on the water or near the pool, and that is a much easier conversation to have while you are standing on both.

Is one visit enough?

Often not, and that is fine. Plenty of families walk two or three resorts before choosing, and some decide resort life is not for them at all. We would rather you were sure than quick.

How does it compare to a traditional cottage?

Bring what a traditional cottage would genuinely cost you and we will put the two side by side. Families are usually surprised how close it lands once the upkeep, the utilities and the lost weekends are counted properly.

No longer our three season getaway, but our three season home. You cannot help but feel at home once you drive through the gates.
